    A total of 167 beneficiaries will receive P15,000.00 worth of Livelihood Assistance Grant (L.A.G.) from the Sustainable Livelihood Program (S.L.P.) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Distribution of the cash assistance will be done today, May 28, 2021, at the Lagawe Central School Gymnasium by the representatives from DSWD-CAR and MSWD Office of the Local Government Unit of Lagawe.

According to Mr. Winifredo G. Guiaoan, Provincial Coordinator of SLP Ifugao, the said assistance grant aims to provide business owners and displaced workers of Lagawe, affected by the COVID19 lockdowns last year, additional capital to revive their business and/or start their very own sustainable livelihood projects for them to have a source of income during this pandemic. He also added that the beneficiaries will still undergo monitoring after receiving the cash assistance to ensure the proper utilization of the money received. The monitoring team, composed by the barangay officials, MSWD staffs and SLP Ifugao, will require all beneficiaries to submit all official, sales and acknowledgement receipts of their purchases for their proposed projects that should be started with in one month from today.
The list of beneficiaries were identified by the MSWD Office of LGU Lagawe in coordination with some barangay officials las February 2021 following the receipt of the communication letter informing MLGU's of the Livelihood Assistance Grant program of the National Government. According to Mrs. Holidae L. Banhan, MSWDO Lagawe Focal Person for SLP, more than 180 proposals was received by their office but only 167 were approved and submitted to DSWD-CAR.
The Province of Ifugao has a total of 337 beneficiaries for the Livelihood Assistance Grant where 167 is from the municipality of Lagawe, 130 from the municipality of Hungduan, 30 from the municipality of Banaue and 10 beneficiary from the municipality of Kiangan. - SMC
